Loft living with CaberBoard flooring
11 March 2020

Leeds-based New Storey Homes, which specialises in loft conversions and expanding storage spaces, repeatedly chooses Norbord’s CaberDek for builds as it is easy to use and consistently reliable.

Originally a joinery company, New Storey Homes expanded its services having recognised a gap in the market after the recession in the 2000s. With fewer people being able to afford to move, New Storey Homes decided to help owners develop their existing properties into their dream homes by making the most of unused loft space and turning two-storey homes into three-storey ones. To turn an insulated loft into a fully functioning room, a lot of work is required, including laying a new floor. That is why they choose Norbord’s CaberBoard time and time again.

CaberDek from the CaberBoard range is the product of choice. It creates a safe working platform due to its waterproof, slip-resistant film. The team at New Storey Homes interlock the CaberDek panels over new joists to add extra strength to the loft floor and, when finished, the protective film is peeled back to provide a clean and solid foundation for subsequent floorcoverings such as carpeting.

Peter from New Storey Homes commented, “We use CaberDek quite simply because it is the best option on the market for what we need and is ideal for loft conversions. Other products have pros and cons but, with Norbord’s flooring range, we find there are just many, many pros, such as  strength and reliability and cost!”
