Can I use Contiboard for shelving above radiators?
Norbord recommend that you position them at least 50mm (2") above the top of the radiator and position brackets either end of the shelf (with one in the middle too) to prevent bowing caused by the heat from the radiator.
How do you use the iron on edging tape?
Apply edging to surface, ensuring it's dry and free from dust, cover with a piece of brown paper and using a warm iron, press down firmly. Then trim to suit using a knife or chisel.
Are the panels of Contiboard edged all round on all four edges?
Most users of Contiboard make at least one cut in a panel therefore just the two long edges are finished.
What is the best way to remove general marks?
Soap and water, take care not to dampen the product.
Can you stick wallpaper to Contiboard?
Yes: after degreasing with soap and water (take care not to dampen the product) and giving it a light sand to provide a key - use 'polycell' or similar.
What if I want a different colour of Contiboard?
Our new Contiboard ranges comes in a variety of colours to suit your requirements. However, Contiboard can be painted by degreasing it with soap and water - taking care not to dampen the product. Then, sand it down to give it a key and then apply two coats of acrylic primer, allow to dry. You are now ready to paint it, oil based is best, we recommend that a test is carried out in an inconspicuous area first.
How do you remove glue on the board left from the label?
Soap and water, take care not to dampen the product. Turpentine or Cellulose Thinner (nail polish remover) are also suitable.
How do you stop chipping when cutting Contiboard?
Use masking tape on both sides of the cutting line and a fine toothed saw.
What is the best adhesive to use with Contiboard?
Any PVA based glue or for heavy duty work 'Araldite' (epoxy)
